Wes Anderson is arguably the most popular “underground” filmmaker of our time; although his films are widely distributed and avidly watched by his fans, he still maintains an indie sensibility through his whimsical settings and plots. “He definitely has a style,” notes Keith Garcia, creative manager for the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Littleton. “He creates such an interesting visual style, based on paying homage to so many filmmakers before him, and his quirkiness really goes a long way. And he has an ability to bring the best out of particular actors in a non-traditional sense that people are really fond of seeing.”

Alamo has been celebrating Anderson’s latest film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, all month, and activities culminate tonight with the Grand Budapest Hotel Feast, a meal served during a screening. It’s the type of extravaganza that only Alamo can offer: There will be four courses served, all of them inspired by the film. “The feast is timed for certain parts of the movie,” explains Garcia. “A certain course will be served in time for one section of the film that the food was inspired by. And after a few minutes, plates are taken away and the next course comes along.”

The feast starts tonight at 7:15 p.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 7301 South Santa Fe Drive in Littleton. Get tickets, $65, and information at drafthouse.com/denver or by calling 720-588-4107.
