The big draw of Art on the Farm is the opportunity to see fine art in an unusual setting. “It’s an interesting and fun place to visit,” she says. “Our farm is designated as a botanical sanctuary, and we focus on cultivating at-risk and endangered medicinal plant species. We’ve created a little self-guided walking tour for the Lafeyette Garden Tour that goes through some of the wild areas of the farm, so people can walk through that and check out all the vendors set up outside.”
The art flourishing on the farm is a little bit of everything. “We have a huge variety of mediums,” Martinelli says. “There are a couple of jewelry artists, one woman who does paintings on wood that are whimsical and fun, a woman who does handmade prayer flags, a soap maker — and we’ll be showing products from our farm, as well.”
