But it’s also a way to shower some love and attention on the Five Points neighborhood. “When people come to this event, they’re making a direct impact on programs for people who live in that area,” she says. “The main program we’re working on is Cycles for Student Success at Whittier Elementary and Gilpin Montessori; at each school, each semester, we give away bikes and accessories to kids with the best or most improved attendance.
“Some people come out because RiNo is a fun place and they want to enjoy themselves,” she adds, “and some people come out to support great programs in a traditionally overlooked area.”
