Big Freedia (performing tonight at the Larimer Lounge with Bass Drum of Death and Narky Stares) is here, and she is a riled up force to be reckoned with. Currently the figurehead of the long-percolating Bounce (or Sissy Bounce) movement, she is just one part of a strong undercurrent of performers pushing the genre out of its geographical confines of New Orleans. Part rapper, part dance-floor commander, Freedia brings an unparalleled energy and a holler heard loud and clear to a rabid fan base who just wants to shake it.

Last year's Big Freedia Hitz Vol. 1 rolled out her biggest collection of jittery ass-wigglers yet, but nothing can compare to the wild and all-inclusive party Freedia brings live to the stage. This show is 21 and up, and tickets are $13-$15. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., acts begin at 8:30.
