Tonight, Massive Reggae is the place to be for all the high island vibrations in the city. DJ Uplifter and friends will be facilitating the sounds that will keep you moving this evening at Funky Buddha. Tons of drink specials and RockBrook Inc dispensary will be in the house giving away tons of free goodies. No cover, 21+up.
Rockstar Lounge, meanwhile, will be hosting a Purple Kush party that boasts if the unveiling of grape Ciroc, a strip tease contest for cash and more. It's a 4/20 style celebration for all who are looking to dance, sip, and get down.
The Guerilla Garden is offering free entry, free drinks and an awesome time over at the warehouse where tons of unseen art by founder Jolt will be unveiled. Music by DJ Wayzout and Champagne Charlie will keep this artsy party moving. The get down goes from 7 p.m.-midnight.
Choose High on Life is hosting an awakening dance party to empower and unite the community through music and networking; a portion of all proceeds will be given to the Design for Living Recovery Center. Ishe, Hazy Meadows, Scienteist, Brett Starr and Rescue will provide the tunes, and Lumonics Light and Sound Gallery will provide the surroundings. (9 p.m., 18+, $18-$20)P.U.N.C.H.I.S. is bringing in Octave from Paris with a live-PA throwdown in Beta's Beatport Lounge tonight; Jon Foster vs. Aaron Blauer will support. Afterward, Emote Music is presenting an afterhours party with Octave performing a second live set along with the Traveling S#!T Show, Steofan and John Templeton. Something Wicked is coming to the Fusion Factory this weekend -- Something Wicked being a "dark carnival art show" with 4-20, Seeda with Precious, Mentat, m.i.t.h., Kanyon, Erothym and Biolumigen tonight, and a whole new host of surprises tomorrow night. Come in your best goth/Victorian/steampunk/carnival/circus costume and prepare to be blown away by the live art, vendors, performances and much more. (7 p.m., $7)
The party continues for Something Wicked at the Fusion Factory on Saturday night with Ian Welling, Gindi, DMTREE, Big Kid, Grymetyme, Nas-ja and Coult 45; the same dress-up rules and extracurricular activities still apply. (7 p.m., $7, Taurus star signs get in free)
It's also Hoang's birthday on Saturday night, and the Blend is celebrating by bringing in Doc Noe from the 5270 crew to help celebrate, with opening support by resident Brick Lee; it all goes down at the Meadowlark, as usual. (9 p.m., 21+, $5)
L.A. Riots headlines Beta on Saturday night for a techno/drum-and-bass fusion dance party with residents Cognition + T-Rav and Tommy Michael supporting. (9 p.m., 18+, $10)Shockwave 303 is bringing Envy to Casselman's on Saturday night; Ghetto and Tony Cassette, Hazy Meadow, Josh Trosper, Hobo Bob, Proteje, Brandon Scott and DJ Forty Two will bring sounds to a setup that includes two projection screens, two full-color lasers, two LED towers and more. (8 p.m., 18+, $10-$15)
It's all reggae everything at Opal Lion this Saturday night with a Caribbean soiree featuring the resident Mountain Lion crew. Red Stripe will fuel this dance party, along with the sounds of DJ Bushy Bush and more. $5 cover, 21+up.
Finally, Chances Grille boats of being a "happy place," and somewhere the ladies can feel free to show off their undergarments whilst dancing to the hottest hip-hop, reggae, and dance hall. Sounds by DJ Cassidy. Drink specials will be a plenty all Saturday night for this 21+up, no cover crowd.
