Just received word that Widowers are heading into the studio to record a follow-up to their excellent self-titled debut. According to the band, this means no more new shows while they concentrate on recording. Anyone who caught the group's set at the UMS this summer knows why this is exciting -- the band is working a new, heavier style of psychedelia that leans heavily towards mind-fucking krautrock grooves. If they can capture that intensity and insanity on record, the upcoming disc will be one of the best of the year -- whatever year it ends up coming out in. In the meantime, the act's first record is still available, along with a slew of bonus material, from Max3 for $10.
