I Am the Dot continue their impressive pace of one release a month with today's unleashing of the Winter EP. As the name suggests, this latest batch of three songs is inspired by the season.

This time out, Zach Tipton has enlisted the help of ambient artist Boneless, who he previously worked with on the song "Treetops." The results feel a little more spacious and definitely display a slightly different timbrel palette, but it's still very much Tipton's songwriting and haunting vocals that make it work. The standout track is closer "Snow Blindness," with its sparkling synthesizer sounds that evoke the sun reflecting off the snow, melodic woodwind-esque synth line and intriguing spoken-word vocal.

You can hear the whole thing via embedded player after the jump, or just head over to the EP's Bandcamp page to download it for free. If you like it, you can catch I Am the Dot live at the hi-dive February 19, where you can also see his former act Young Coyotes and Adam Halftery's American Tomahawk.
