How about Salvation -- or rather, half-off Salvation.

On Saturday, May 21, the day that doomsday prognosticators say will be the beginning of the end for mankind, Uptown Brothers Brewing, 320 East Colfax Avenue, will offer pints of Avery Brewing's Salvation for half price.

The beer, a Belgian Strong Ale, is certainly a good choice to drink -- whether you will be saved or not. It weighs in at 9 percent alcohol by volume, meaning you'll be ready for anything after a couple of glasses.

"Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon," is how the Boulder brewery describes the beer.

Oh, and just in case the the end of world doesn't come, the brewery notes that "this heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for three years."
