Gimme a Y! Gimme an O! Broncos cheerleaders will be on hand tonight for the opening of a new self-serve fro-yo shop in Cherry Creek.

Yogurt Guru, 2636 East Third Avenue, also has other treats in store for tonight's opening, including 50 percent off all yogurt between 5 and 8 p.m and giveaways between 6 and10 p.m. The lady Broncos will be available for pics and autographs between 6 and 7 p.m. Giveaways include a spa treatment, manicure, pedicure and a "Family Fun Pass" to the Heritage Square amusement park.

Yogurt Guru will feature a variety of changing yogurt flavors and a boatload of toppings -- including Froot Loops and Fruity Pebbles! -- available for customers to serve themselves at 39 cents an ounce.

Today's flavors are red velvet cake, espresso, cookies and cream, strawberry, blueberry tart, rocky mountain tart, vanilla, mango, peanut butter and chocolate. Shop owner Karen Krzyzaniak describes the "tart" flavors as "crisp and clean" and "not really rich."

Krzyzaniak says she got the idea to invite the cheerleaders from seeing so many tabloid magazine photos of celebrities toting cups of Pinkberry brand frozen yogurt around.

"Lately they've been showing stars at Pinkberry with Pinkberry cups," she says. "So I thought, we are locally owned and locally headquartered, so let's get some of our own local celebrities involved."

Krzyzaniak's daughter also happens to be a junior Broncos cheerleader.

A self-professed health nut, Krzyzaniak decided to open a self-serve frozen yogurt shop after seeing it everywhere on a trip to Disneyland with her family. "I have a passion for something healthy, a healthy treat," she says. "I went to Southern California last year and ran into these things, and we were going every night. It is delicious, addicting and healthy."

"I've always wanted to have my own business," she continues, adding that other locations are in the works, including a scouting mission in Uptown.

Yogurt Guru's regular hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to midnight.

Krzyzaniak's not the only one looking to capitalize on the fro yo trend. Check out Liz Kellermeyer's recent post on another Cherry Creek frozen yogurt shop, Cherry on Top.

Goooo Guru!
