"We want to be known as the place in Denver for raw and char-grilled oysters," testifies Eric Hyatt, co-owner of Angelo's. The old-school Italian restaurant on East Sixth Avenue shucks 5,000 oysters every week, according to Hyatt, and DISH diners will get to experience them in four different varieties.
Char-grilled mollusks will be bathed in either the Original combination of butter, Pecorino Romano, garlic and herbs, or decadent Breckenridge Bourbon chipotle butter. There will also be oysters topped with bacon and Gorgonzola, and raw oysters will be served simply with lemon and Angelo's house mignonette.
The oysters from Angelo's are just one of dozens of offerings you'll find at DISH, which runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 7. (VIP entrance is at 11 a.m.) To see what else is in store and buy tickets for this culinary celebration's twentieth anniversary, visit the 2014 DISH site.
