KJ Gourmet Foods, a Brighton-based food company, is all hot and bothered -- but it has absolutely nothing to do with today's beautifully balmy temperature. See, they've just released their Hot Heads Pepperspread -- today! -- and tonight, they're holding a launch party and food drive to benefit Food Bank of the Rockies.

It all goes down at Larimer Hot House, 2810 Larimer Street. The caveat to attend? You'll need to bring two non-perishable food items for donation to the food bank. "What better way to launch our product than to ask folks to bring in food to help feed the hungry?" asks Jeff Meeker, cow-owner of KJ Gourmet Foods.

And since it's the season to spread the wealth, the staff from Larimer Hot House will pour free beer and serve complimentary foodstuffs -- sliders, quesadillas, queso dip and chips -- made with Hot Heads pepperspread. The launch party begins at 7 p.m. and reservations are suggested, but not required. To RSVP, send an e-mail to [email protected].
