Beer Man

New beers from Strange, TRVE, Dry Dock, Copper Kettle and River North

Each week, Strange Brewing taps a new, small-batch creation: just one barrel of whatever head brewer Tim Myers and buddy Harry Smith (who is starting his own brewery next year) can think up. Along with the beer, they take a pic of the wort as it is being brewed and post it on Facebook as Strange Mash Art (see a previous example above). The latest One Barrel Wednesday brew is Ye Old Ale, an English Old Ale with "a complex flavor profile including caramel, nutty and molasses flavors," that will tapped on Wednesday, December 19.

Speaking of Strange, the Fermentedly Challenged beer blog (which won the Best Booze Blog nod at Westword's recent Denver Web Awards) is reporting that Grimm Brothers and the Rackhouse Pub are organizing a benefit for Strange, which is facing a legal trademark challenge from a homebrew shop in Massachusetts. Stay tuned to Cafe Society, where we'll report more on this fundraiser.
