Dumped boyfriend at Chinese restaurant: He'll take out one from Column A, one from Column B

Despondent over a breakup with his girlfriend on Friday, Chad Allen did what any 22-year-old would do: He drank a lot.

Unfortunately, he decided to take his binge on the road on the afternoon of April 2, stopping off at the New Panda restaurant at 17732 South Golden road in Golden, where he sat down at a table and pulled out a 9mm Beretta replica pellet gun that he pointed at employees and passersby.

The restaurant called the cops, who arrived at 3:35 p.m. By then, witnesses said, Allen had already been drinking most of the day. Allen wound up in clink, charged with felony menacing and disorderly conduct.

Here's the official release from the City of Golden Police Department

On April 2, 2010 at 3:35pm Golden Police responded to the New Panda restaurant located at 17732 South Golden Road. Employees were reporting that there was a man sitting at a table, with a hand gun, who was pointing the weapon at employees and people walking by.

Police responded and were able to quickly take 22 year old Chad Allen of Golden into custody. The restaurant had been evacuated by employees leaving Allen the only person inside.

Allen had a 9mm Beretta replica pellet gun in his possession when he was arrested.

It was later learned that Allen was angry over the breakup of he and his girlfriend. Witnesses say Allen had been consuming alcohol for most of the day.

Chad Allen was booked into the Jefferson County Jail for Felony Menacing and Disorderly Conduct.

The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office will review the case on Monday.

In the meantime, New Panda is open for business and, yes, it's serving alcohol. But despondent dumped boyfriends might want to stick to tea.
