Locally-made planks highlight Colorado Demo Days at Copper Mountain this weekend

Nearly a dozen of Colorado's coolest local ski and snowboard companies are banding together for the 2nd annual Colorado Demo Days event this weekend at Copper Mountain, a showcase of locally-made planks.

"We have such an awesome snowsports industry right here in Colorado, and supporting local brands supports both the local shred community and the local economy," says Adam Schmidt, founder and editor of the event's presenting sponsor, Snowboard Colorado Magazine. "Copper already has a kick-ass early-season terrain park set up, so it's a great opportunity to come up and put these local companies to the test."

The event is free and open to the public with a valid Copper lift ticket or season pass, and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday November 17 and Sunday November 18. Featured brands include Icelantic Skis (Denver), Unity Snowboards (Dillon), Never Summer (Denver) Snowboards, Liberty Skis (Avon), Rocky Mountain Underground (Breckenridge), Meier Skis (Glenwood Springs), Bomber Industries (Silverthorne), Fortitude Skis (Arvada), Donek Snowboards (Denver), and Mountain Billy Snowboards (Colorado Springs).

Copper currently has 93 acres of terrain open, with more on the way. KSMT Radio will be broadcasting live from Copper's Center village on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m., when they'll be giving away a Unity snowboard. Liberty Skis and Coors will be giving away a free pair of skis at the après party on Saturday at Endo's Adrenaline Cafe.
