Summer is in full swing and you're probably saving up your cash to party with 2 Chainz this weekend at the Westword Music Showcase. So if you want to have a good time this week without burning a hole in your wallet, here's a few things to try. Celebrate sports, tell a story and jam out this week, for free.

Don't forget to check out the Westword calendar, and let everyone know about other ways to ball on a budget in the comments below.

The Huddle at McNichols Building (Monday, free) Warm Cookies of the Revolution throws events at which guests can have a good time while exercising the mind and engaging in civic discussion. This time, the hosts will watch the USA vs. Ghana soccer match while they weave in discussions of inspiring sports stories and political issues concerning the World Cup. Adult refreshments will be provided.

Beats on the Creek at Coohills (Tuesday, free) Partying under a bridge is free, but it's also a little sketchy, so party on top of a bridge instead. Every Tuesday this summer, Coohills will be hosting a party with live music on the bridge over the Cherry Creek. To kick off this summer's concert series, jam out to some funk and soul from Colorado's own Funkiphino. Show up early to get a good spot. The Narrators at Butnport Theater (Wednesday, free) The Narrators have been around for a long time, if you haven't checked it out yet, tonight is the night to get real. Here, complete strangers share their stories to other complete strangers during this intimate, funny and compelling experience.
