Here's our guide to some of the best comedy shows, fundraisers, spoken-word events and dance floors to tear up this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Peanut Butter Jamz at Lumonics Light & Sound Gallery (Friday, $10 donation) Lumonics invites one and all to get weird within its multi-sensory gallery space tonight for a throwdown with good things in mind. Down and Derby Is for Lovers at City Hall (Saturday, $10) This ongoing, adult-friendly roller skating party carries the Valentine's Day vibe into the weekend with its lovers-friendly theme. Always a costume party of your choice -- may we suggest something red, white and pink? -- the roller disco has found a new home at City Hall, with two floors for skating. Local mixmasters DJ Chonz and Mike Disco are sure to keep the party cruising with a diverse mix of new and old school jams.

Damn Gurl is Burning at The Compound (Saturday, free) Channel your tranimal swagger and Catholic school realness as the dance floor becomes one nasty catwalk at this edition of Damn Gurl! Door proceeds, a silent auction and sales from a pop-up shop of local art will all go to help the organization, which reaches out to individuals on the Medicaid Waiver waiting list.

Arguments & Grievances at Vine Street Pub (Sunday, free) This night of intellectually stimulating comedy pitting comedians against each other as they argue strangely connected topics has become one of Sunday evening's best free shows. And you'll get to see Edinburgh Fringe Festival performer Jim Hickox go up against Adam Cayton-Holland (, fresh off his stop on Conan), as they battle over the idea of kings vs. queens.

Fundraiser for Rise Up/Café Cultura at Colorado Progressive Coalition, 1029 Santa Fe ($5-$10 donation) A community organization aimed at supporting mobilizing Indigenous peoples through spoken word and other creative outlets, Café Cultura needs your help.
