TEDx Mile High premieres tomorrow with sixteen regional speakers

TED, which stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design brings sixteen local leaders innovators and entrepreneurs to Ellie Caulkins Opera House tomorrow for an independently organized TEDx Mile High event.

The theme is "Emergence" -- of new ideas, thinking and technology -- which will be threaded through the presentations. Educators, musicians, historians, calligraphers, activists and more will share the stage as Colorado residents learn about the emerging ideas coming out of the region. Ken Arkind is a National Poetry Slam Champion and full-time touring artist who has performed in almost all fifty states and Canada. He is the founding Program Director of Denver Minor Disturbance, an independent literary arts organization dedicated to helping Colorado youth find their voice through poetry and performance.

Lynn M. Gangone, Ed.D. is dean of Colorado Women's College and associate clinical professor of higher education at the Morgridge College of Education. Under her leadership, the college has introduced innovative academic programs, secured nearly $8 million in funds to support scholarships and programs, and introduced a comprehensive strategic plan that has repositioned the college to educate women to boldly lead in the communities where they live, work, and engage.

Phil Drolet is the creator of The Feel Good Lifestyle and founder of, a platform designed to help entrepreneurs build world class businesses and have world class lives. Phil is passionate about optimizing human potential, creating profound societal change through entrepreneurship and connecting deeply with others by relentlessly living his truth.

Jake Weidmann is a professional artist and certified Master Penman who lives and works in Denver. Weidmann received his Master Penman certificate through The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting in July 2011. Jake works across several mediums including drawing in pencil and charcoal; pen and ink; painting in acrylic, airbrush, oil and gouache; sculpting in wood, bone, antler and clay; and is versed in numerous forms of calligraphy.

With a contagious passion and energy, Tasha Eurich pairs her scientific savvy in human behavior with a practical approach to solving business challenges. Her life's work is to help companies succeed by making their leaders awesome. In 2013 Tasha started her company, The Eurich Group, to helps companies succeed by making their leaders awesome (primarily through workshops, keynotes, and executive and team coaching).
