A lot to love on the February fashion calendar

Love is in the air in February -- especially when it comes to fashion. A highlight of the month will be a Goodwill fashion show hosted by Tim Gunn and Mondo Guerro, who'll also be hosting a weekly Under the Gunn watching party. Here's some of what's in store for February.

LVMH International Designer Competition Saturday, February 2 (Deadline)

New designers from around the world will compete to take home the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize, a $405,000 grant that comes with a year of coaching. The only rules for the contest are that designers must be between the ages of eighteen and forty, and should have commercially shown at least two ready-to-wear collections to date. Throughout the process, the contestants' work will be displayed on the LVHM website, allowing input via social media. The applicant pool will then be narrowed down to thirty, all of whom will be flown to Paris during fashion week in March. To register, go to

Goodwill's Fourth Annual Good Exchange Fashion Show and Clothing Swap Thursday, February 6 Exdo Event Center

Hosted by Mondo Guerra of Project Runway All Stars and Under the Gunn, the Good Exchange Fashion Show and Clothing Swap will feature upcycled designs from young designers in Goodwill's youth programs and local celebrities modeling clothing from Goodwill's Déjà Blue Boutique. Special guest Tim Gunn will share hosting duties and provide his sage mentoring advice. Under the Gunn Viewing Party Thursdays in February Beauty Bar

Mondo Guerra hosts an Under the Gunn viewing party every Thursday at Beauty Bar, 608 13th Avenue. Doors open at 5 p.m. with activities and prizes; Under the Gunn starts at 7 p.m. Entry is free but a suggested $1 or $2 donation at the door benefits Denver Colorado AIDS Project.

Modern Love: A Benefit for Denver's CASA Saturday, February 8 Mod Livin'

Mod Livin', the Denver­-based purveyor of modern and mid­-century modern home furnishings and accessories, in partnership with Goldyn, The Scout Guide and Matthew Morris Salon, will present Modern Love from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mod Livin', 5327 East Colfax Avenue. This benefit for Denver's CASA includes limited edition art prints from four of Denver's favorite artists and photographers, an informal fashion show styled by Goldyn and Vanessa Barcus, with hair and make-up by Matthew Morris Salon. Admission is free; all proceeds from art sales will go to Denver CASA, a non¬profit that provides abused and neglected children in the Denver juvenile courts with civilian advocates.

Trend Event Fashion Show Wednesday, February 12 Neiman Marcus

Join fellow fashionistas at Neiman Marcus to get a sneak peak at the latest trends for Spring 2014. The show will begin at 6 p.m., and will take place on level two of Neiman Marcus, 3030 East First Avenue. Refreshments and light bites will be served.
