But then, Ready reportedly accused Pace of personally raising the utility rates on Pueblo customers.
In response, Pace brought up the issue of character -- which led to this statement: "A couple weeks ago, I was disturbed by a link you posted on your Facebook page of an article claiming that the Newtown Sandy Hook school shooting is a hoax perpetrated by the federal government to advance a gun-control agenda."Most politicians would have countered by distancing themselves from such a post -- but not Ready. Instead, as seen in the video below, he said the following:
"To the question of whether it really happened, Sal, some of the people in the videos... . If you recall, there was a picture of a man walking in whose daughter had died. He was smiling and joking. When he walked into the room, he turned, and all of a sudden had tears in his eyes. Why? I question that."
As can be heard in the clip, the audience booed heartily during Ready's reply -- unless, that is, the sounds were secretly added to the footage as part of a government conspiracy.
