Slathering raw fish on your hands on live TV is not your romantic Valentines's date. But can it still be sexy? Damn straight, when it's under the tutelage of Denver Open Media, Denver's hip new public access TV station.

See for yourself at DOM's Valentine's Sushi Dinner & Fundraiser on Sunday, February 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Denver Open Media television studio, 700 Kalamath Street. Under the watchful eye and razor-sharp knife of DOM's sushi guru Chef Kazu (host of Colorado Asian Today on DOM, Comcast Channel 57), guests will learn to roll their own sushi and sample Valentine's-themed sushi treats and desserts, while Japanese music and videos set the tone. Sake, plum wine and beer will be flowing for a small donation. And, of course, all your raw-fish shenanigans will be broadcast live to all your friends and family on Comcast Channel 58.

The dinner cost $45 a person or $80 a couple, with all proceeds benefiting DOM. For more information, go to Denver Open Media's website or e-mail [email protected]. -- Joel Warner
