McConney Bronson (No. 7): 15th most wanted man in Denver killed, Pernell Hines arrested

In March, we shared a mug shot gallery of Denver's fifty most wanted criminals -- and McConney Bronson placed fifteenth.

Now, he's number seven in the second year of our Mile High Murder blog -- and Pernell Hines is a suspect in the incident.

Last week, Jef Otte told you about the arrest of Hines following an incident two blocks east of Monaco on 39th Avenue, near Martin Luther King Park.

The victim was subsequently identified as Bronson, aka McConney Bronson-Locket, 33, who'd been wanted on charges involving robbery, drugs and assault. According to the Denver coroner's office, Bronson died "due to a gunshot wound of the abdomen and thorax."

Here's a June 16 release from the Denver Police Department on the homicide:

On June 15, 2010, at approximately 6:00 p.m. Denver 911 received a report of disturbance at 6767 East 39th Avenue. Officers arrived on-scene and found a male who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide Detectives were conducting the scene investigation when the suspect turned himself into them. Through the investigation, it was learned the two men were involved in an argument when one shot the other. The suspect has been identified as Pernell Hines DOB 1/23/73. Hines is being held in the Denver County Jail for investigation of 1st Degree Murder. Hines's mug shot will not be released at this time pending further investigation.
