The Denver coroner's office has identified the victim of this crime as Paul Cortez. Look below to see the release revealing this information:
On 10-27-2010 this office was notified of a death at Denver Health Medical Center. The decedent, Mr. Paul Cortez of Denver Colorado (DOB: 6-4-1989) had been transported to the hospital from the 3400 Block of York Street in Denver Colorado with multiple gunshot wounds. This office is in the process of doing an autopsy.
At this writing, the Denver Police Department hasn't publicly identified a suspect in this case, adding nothing more to the incident basics we shared in our original item, seen here:
Original item, 11:58 a.m. October 28: There's more that we don't know than know about a shooting last night at the corner of Bruce Randolph Avenue and York Street.
The identity of the victim hasn't been released and no suspects have been named to date. But the Denver Police reveal that the dead man suffered multiple bullet wounds and the shooter fled from the area and remains at large.

Denver Police Department release:
On October 27, 2010, at 9:34 p.m. Denver Police received a 911 call reporting a man had been shoot at the corner of Bruce Randolph Avenue and York Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim laying in the street suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. The victim was transported to Denver Health Medical Center where he later died.Through the investigation detectives learned that the victim and the suspect(s) were involved in an unknown type of encounter when the suspect shot the victim several times and fled the scene. The death is being investigated as a homicide.
The identity of the victim and the cause of his death will be released by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
