Denver Broncos waste no time putting tickets on sale -- with or without free agents

Willis McGahee. DeAngelo Williams. Jerious Norwood. Franklin McWashedup. Which free agents will the Denver Broncos sign before the season starts, and will they be any good? Fans will have to make a leap of faith on the matter since the team announced today that single-game tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, August 2 (the Broncos certainly wasted no time in the aftermath of the labor settlement between NFL owners and players).

But August 2 is two days before any veteran free agents will be allowed to actually practice with their new teams, according to the rules put in place by the settlement.

It's a risky bet, but no riskier than wagering the season on Tim Tebow. And it's one that Denverites are likely to take -- as they have for the past 32 years, during which the Broncos have sold out every home game they've played.

According to the team's web site, "full-price tickets will go on sale starting at 11 a.m. and half-price tickets will be available starting at 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased over the phone by calling 800-745-3000 or online at Tickets will be available at the Broncos Ticket Office beginning on Aug. 3."

Good luck.
