Check out the trailer for the new graffiti documentary Bomb It, screening tonight at the Starz Film Center to kick off three days of graffiti events organized by Kim Owens over at www.kaffinebuzz.com. Directed by Jon Reiss – who will be on hand afterward to answer questions – the film includes interviews with the likes of Lady Pink, Cornbread, KRS-One, Shepard Fairey and Taki 183. Then at 8 p.m. tomorrow, head down to the Falcon, at 3295 South Broadway in Englewood, for an eight-buck, sixteen-and-over graf party featuring demos by the likes of the Magnet Mafia and IndyInk with hip-hop freestylings by San Francisco-based TopR along with Dick Nasty, Foul Mouth, ATM and Denver’s own Input.
On Saturday, it’s time to get intellectual back at the film center, where from 2-4:15 p.m. various panels comprised of both city officials and local graffiti luminaries such as Wiser and Jolt will try to find some common ground -- and maybe even make headway on getting some “legal walls” established in Denver. – Jared Jacang Maher
