The 3100 block of North Franklin, captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map"), looks pleasant, bucolic even. However, something bad, very bad, has happened there. The Denver Police Department responded to a call at 5:30 a.m. today, and upon their arrival, they found a dead man with bullet holes in him. At this point, the DPD isn't issuing much more information than that -- but what they've released is on view after the jump:

Date: May 30, 2009

On May 30, 2009, at approximately 5:30 a.m. the Denver Police received a call of a man who was in the street in the 3100 block of North Franklin Street. When officers arrived on scene they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. We are not releasing suspect information at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000.
