Medical marijuana and South Park: Everybody's favorite obscene cartoon takes on Colorado's hottest topic — plus scrotum coats!

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone grew up in Colorado and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, which explains why their celebrated show includes lots of local references. So it was only a matter of time before the duo took on the hottest topic around these parts these days: medical marijuana.

That time finally came with last night's episode. "Medicinal Fried Chicken" looks at what happens when a marijuana dispensary opens shop in South Park, the characters' fictional Colorado home town. (Spoiler alert: Cartman snorts KFC gravy like cocaine and Randy bounces around town on his swollen balls like they're a Hoppity Hop.)

There's an important moral mixed into the madness: Legalizing pot would be better than fiddling with complicated medical marijuana rules. Or maybe it's that people shouldn't abuse medical conditions to score weed. Or maybe it's that legislating lifestyles is ridiculous. Or maybe it's that scrotum coats are hot.
