Seventh Judicial District DA Myrl Serra was busted in September on charges of indecent exposure and unlawful sexual conduct detailed in an affidavit that told tales of penis exposure and in-office masturbation. So news that Serra formally resigned his post in a letter on view below is less surprising than the fact that he waited several months before doing so.

"Although many residents have encouraged me to remain in my position," Serra wrote in a document addressed to Governor-elect John Hickenlooper (and copied to still-Governor Bill Ritter), "I have made this decision in that the quick resolution to the underlying issues I had hoped for has not occurred."

The letter is followed by a larger version of Serra's booking photo, which made our top ten list of 2010 mug shots from celebrities and notables, and the aforementioned affidavit, which includes plenty of startling allegations.
