More than one hundred visual artists from around the country – and one photographer from Tokyo – are coming to Denver this weekend for the inaugural ArtDenver, a three-day indoor exhibition and more that will close out Denver Arts Week. The juried art show will feature 91 artists who have previously participated in the Cherry Creek Arts Festival as well as forty newcomers.

“We’re excited to feature emerging artists like Sara Lightning and welcome back mixed-media artists like Aaron Hequemborg,” says Tara Brickell, associate director of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, which is producing the event. Brickell explains that one of the goals for ArtDenver was to host a showcase that was designed to be displayed indoors.

Designers Michael Costello and Mondo Guerra will be at tonight's opening ceremony and fashion show along with sculptor Ralph Prata. There will also be figurative painting, interior designs, outdoor living spaces and even a section of handmade crafts from Colorado artists and designers.

ArtDenver runs from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight at the Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street, and continues tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets start at $12 for a one-day pass; get more information at cherryarts.org.
Fri., Nov. 14, 6-10 p.m.; Sat., Nov. 15, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., Nov. 16, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2014
