Reader: It's Ludicrous to Care More About a Cold Dog Than Freezing Homeless People

Our post about a Twitter campaign launched on behalf of a husky left outside in freezing weather has received a slew of widely varied comments. Some readers salute those who acted on behalf of the dog, while others argue that the husky was never in danger because the breed loves and can tolerate the cold -- and this one suggests the response indicates some misplaced priorities.

I think it's ludicrous that people will jump to the aid of a dog that clearly doesn't need it, instead of thinking about people around them that are freezing. The thoughts are what I have a problem with. We could care less about an ugly homeless person, but wrap that in four legs and fur, then everybody bleeds for it. No more justifying my stance, your question has been noted.
