Emilio's Mexican Restaurant is locked and there's a "Seized" sign taped to the glass. According to the sign, the restaurant has been closed by the Colorado Department of Revenue for nonpayment of taxes and is now property of the state.

Those free chips weren't the only thing we liked about Emilio's: it was also one of our favorite stops for a margarita. There aren't many other Mexican choices when it comes to Capitol Hill restaurants, so the loss of Emilio's is a particular blow to neighborhood taco fans, who remember when the place was known as Emilio's Super Chef, a name the owner ditched in 2010 due to confusion with the previous diner where the Super Chef sign originated.
