Cho77 has been a hit since it opened at 42 South Broadway in March. Such a hit, in fact, that it just launched brunch last weekend. The restaurant is now open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m to 2 p.m., when it switches to the full dinner menu. Because she ate her review meals before Cho77 added brunch, she didn't get to try the new, brunch-only items, including a congee du jour and black pepper chive biscuits with Chinese sausage gravy and poached eggs. But she found many other dishes she likes, as she reports in her current Cho77 review. But she also found a few things that weren't as laudable, including the service. And Henry agrees:
Dead on review. Especially the parts about the surly service. The food is amazing, but I've left with a negative impression several times due to the staff. You get a lot better service sitting at the counter — where you can interact with the chefs — than you do sitting at a table.
Have you been to Cho77? What do you think of the food? The service? And where will you be eating brunch this weekend.
