Fun in Skyline Park Will Have You Ready for Some Futbol

The MLS All-Star Game doesn't kick off until next Wednesday, but soccer fans have plenty to put on their calendars in the days leading up to the match.

Headlined by a concert featuring Capital Cities and Aloe Blacc on Sunday, MLS All-Star Week will feature six days of free, soccer-fueled celebrations and events at Skyline Park and Dick's Sporting Goods Park, beginning tonight at Skyline Park with a free screening of several soccer films. The party gets bigger throughout the week, with bubble soccer (it's exactly what it sounds like) on Saturday, a Gold Cup viewing party Sunday and a public training session on Tuesday, in which the MLS All-Stars and opponent Tottenham Hotspur – an English Premier League Team – get ready for the game.

Unlike other American professional sports leagues' all-star games, in which the two competing teams are made up of players within the league, the MLS All-Star Game features only one team of MLS players and an international professional team, such as Tottenham. The Colorado Rapids, host of the All-Star Game, have one player suiting up for the match in defenseman Drew Moore.

Here's a list of the MLS All-Star Week events going on around town:

Friday, July 24
MLS Movie Night will run from 8 to 10 p.m. at Skyline Park. Four short films and one feature-length film, all soccer-centric, will be shown.

Saturday, July 25
Play bubble soccer – soccer played in round, bouncy bubble suits – at Skyline Park from 3 to 8 p.m. Stick around for some dancing at the MLS Silent Disco afterwards.

Sunday, July 26
If you missed out on bubble soccer or didn't get enough on Saturday, you'll have one more chance at Skyline Park from 2 to 5 p.m. Afterwards, there will be a viewing party for the CONCAF Gold Cup to get you ready for a free concert headline by Capital Cities and Aloe Blacc at 7:30 p.m. Go to MLSsoccer.com/FanPass to register for your free concert ticket.

Monday, July 27
Play soccer tennis– a hybrid of the two sports in which you kick a soccer ball over a tennis net – at Skyline Park during the MLS Soccer Tennis Showdown from 4 to 6 p.m. Stick around for an hour and enjoy some live humor from the Soccer Gods.

Tuesday, July 28
Watch the MLS All-Stars and Tottenham Hotspur practice for the big game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come back later and watch the the Special Olympics All-Star Soccer match at 5 p.m., and hang around to watch U.S. soccer icon Landon Donovan coach the up-and-comers of the MLS Homegrown team in the Chipotle Homegrown Game (this one costs $10 to attend).

Wednesday, July 29
If you couldn't score tickets to the game– which starts at 7 p.m. at Dick's Sporting Goods Park – there will be a viewing party for the MLS All-Star Game at Skyline Park from 4 to 10 p.m. Want to be on television?
