Waiting to get tickets for a show until the last minute can be a dicey proposition, but Denver-based Ticket-Pulse hopes to make day-of ticket purchases easy and cheap.

Ticket-Pulse, which has been up and running since mid-May, offers tickets to shows at area venues for up to half the face value. The only catch is they only sell on the day of the show. “I like to describe it as the Expedia of concert tickets,” says Evan Vall, co-owner of the company.

Vall says most venues wind up with a good number of unsold tickets to shows, and his service is meant to get those tickets into the hands of fans.

“Once you leave Red Rocks, shows don’t sell out that much,” says Vall. “A show that does really well might only get eighty percent capacity. We work with venues to get those tickets to fans.”

Vall says Ticket-Pulse only offers day-of sales so as not to cut into a venue's sales prior to the show, and what he has depends on how many tickets the venue is able to sell. However, he adds, buying from Ticket-Pulse is safer than buying tickets from people on Craigslist.

“You don’t have to worry about a ticket getting to your house on time,” he says. “You just pick it up at will-call.” Vall says the service works with 23 area venues and tickets range from $5 to $25 depending on their original price.
