The site's list of Denver area's best free tours includes eight attractions you can check out without charge, including purveyors of delicious candy, steamy beverages, potent potables (to use a Jeopardy phrase) and cold, hard cash. They're perfect for when you're entertaining visitors to Colorado — and just as fun to check out yourself.

GREAT DIVIDE BREWERY TOUR
2201 Arapahoe Street

Get a behind-the-scenes look at Denver's craft beer world on a free tour at the Great Divide Brewery in Downtown Denver. Tours take place at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and each hour starting at 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

DENVER U.S. MINT TOUR
320 W. Colfax Avenue

To see where your currency is conceived (sorry, no free handouts), follow the money trail to the Denver U.S. Mint, one of only two mints in the United States. Hour-long weekday tours led by knowledgeable guides provide a fascinating look into the history of coinage, and both kids and adults love getting up close and personal with the shiny pocket change that streams off the production lines. Admission is complimentary, but reservations must be booked in advance.

COORS BREWERY TOUR
13th & Ford, Golden

"Taste the Rockies!" Coors Brewery, the world's largest brewing site still uses the same Rocky Mountain spring water that Adolph Coors discovered in 1873. Free, self-guided tours show every step in the brewing process, and end with free samples for those over 21.

STRANAHAN'S DISTILLERY
200 S. Kalamath Street

Free tours of the Stranahan's Distillery last approximately 30-45 minutes and include an overview of the company and a guided stroll through the production brew house, still house and rack house. See the bottling room floor and - most importantly — get a taste of Colorado's most precious gold, Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey. All guests are required to have a valid ID with proof of age. Reservations are highly recommended, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF KANSAS CITY-DENVER BRANCH'S MONEY MUSEUM
1020 16th Street

The Money Museum offers an opportunity to learn about the Federal Reserve Bank. And, best of all, it's free! Walk-ins are welcome and groups can make advance reservations. Photo ID required for visitors 18 and older. On your way out, don't forget to get your bag of shredded money.

COLORADO STATE CAPITOL
200 E. Colfax Avenue

Tour the magnificent Colorado State Capitol Building. Stand at exactly a mile high on the steps, see Allen True's beautiful murals, listen in on the Colorado General Assembly, and check out the gorgeous Rose Onyx wainscoting. Free tours are available Mondays through Fridays. Note: The Capitol's gold dome is currently undergoing structural renovations and is not available for touring, however the rest of the tours (Historical, Mr. Brown's Attic and Legislative Tours) are still open to the public.
