Today is Memorial Day, and while there will be public fairs and festivals all over the metro area, as well as barbecues and ballgames, one reader noted a glaring omission in our list of the ten best places for food and fun today. Says John:
I think you guys forgot Fort Logan National Cemetery. The best way to celebrate Memorial Day is to not celebrate at all, but mourn the real heroes who gave their lives for our freedom to party and barbecue all day long while not even thinking twice about what Memorial Day actually symbolizes: the massive human sacrifice Americans have paid to keep our liberties. Just my two cents and where I'll be, with my brothers and sisters who didn't make it home.
The Memorial Day ceremony at Fort Logan starts at 11 a.m. today at 4400 West Kenyon Avenue; Governor John Hickenlooper will attend.
