It was a slow week for restaurant openings and closings, with Godfather's Pizza making a splash on Monday in Thornton and Red Octave playing its final note on East Colfax Avenue; on Saturday we'll be stopping in for a pint at Banded Oak Brewing on Broadway when Denver's newest craft brewery opens its doors.
But there's still plenty of action on the Denver dining scene. We found a new eatery on West Mississippi Avenue called Fritangas La Pili serving dangerously big quesadillas called machetes. Telegraph has been dishing out chef Brian Wilson's cuisine for the better part of a year, so Gretchen Kurtz paid him a visit to find out if there's a musical connection with the Beach Boys star. And Mark Antonation shared a recipe for Salvadoran pupusas — along with some tips about where to buy the ingredients.
