Parker Oktoberfest

The 12th Annual Parker Oktoberfest is returning to Parker, Colorado – September 14, 15 and 16. The annual event has been held at O’Brien park near Parker’s downtown district over the last 12 years – celebrating German culture, themes and tradition. The annual fundraiser is hosted by the Council of Arts, Science and Culture, fundraising for local art, science and cultural events within the greater Parker area. This cultural event brings German themed culture, entertainment, food and music to the Greater Parker area, attracting between 15,000 – 25,000 participants annually. The event began in 2006 – and has become the second largest event in Parker. The event will include over 80 vendors, including three of Denver’s top German and Bavarian bakeries. There are a few new additions to the program this year – including a German themed techno dance party Friday and Saturday nights featuring "Eric Von Bierstuben"; and a “Grimm Weekend - The Kings Favor" – featuring vignettes and special appearances from Grimm fairytale characters throughout the entire weekend. Also included in the program is a Ms. Parker Oktoberfest pageant held Saturday afternoon, Dachshund races, and performances by traditional German entertainers and performers. More information can be found about the event at www.coloradoculture.org and on Facebook at @parkeroktoberfest. [Organizer's description]
