Gustavo & Giselle, who established the Boulder Tango Studio school of Argentine Tango in September 2013, announce the 9th annual Boulder Tango Festival. Five world-renowned couples will join Gustavo & Giselle in teaching and performing at the festival, including: Fernando Sanchez & Ariadna Naveira, Federico Naveira & Sabrina Masso, Omar Ocampo & Monica Romero, Nick Jones & Diana Cruz, Felipe Martinez & Ayano Yoneda and John Miller & Jessica Cutler!
Gustavo Naveira is commonly referred to as “The Greatest Maestro of Tango in The World,” and is literally a living bridge between the origins of tango and the Nuevo tango, both in his ability to articulate and perform the structure and diverse nuances of the dance and its history. Giselle, a master in her own right, compliments Gustavo and together they exemplify tango partnership in all its tensions and complexities with joy and humor.
Three intensive days of classes, practicas, milongas, discussions, shopping and hanging out will fulfill any tango dancer’s dreams, especially given the international list of participants visiting for the event.
Performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at the milongas (dance parties) will be sure to enthrall any audience member, dancer or not, and the greater community is welcomed to join in the excitement! Anyone intrigued to try tango for the first time can take a free class at the festival on Saturday evening.
