For Artist Dan Drossman creation is his catharsis. Having lived with chronic pain for much of his life, he has come to understand the complexities of the mind-body interaction and how pain can simultaneously be a brutal physical reality and a manifestation of the brain. He explores this conflict through his artwork, embracing an intuitive process that allows him to connect to his unconscious—the invisible—letting it explode visually—and visibly—into consciousness and onto the canvas. His paintings and drawings merge elements of graffiti, cartooning, and abstraction to create a unique language.
Drossman is proud to announce a solo exhibition of his paintings and drawings—his first since moving Denver from New York City in 2018. Outlined Against the Visible will be on view July 5 – August 23, 2019 at Pendula Architects Collective, 863 Santa Fe Drive in Denver’s popular Art District on Santa Fe. The public is welcome to visit the show during regular business hours at the collective, Monday through Friday, 9-5 p.m. or by appointment. [Organizer's description]
