Upstream Concerts, producer of SnowyGrass Music Festival, and The Colorado Sound will be presenting the Upstream Mountain Songwriting Retreat the first weekend of February, 2020. Songwriters of varying experience from the Estes Valley as well as from the Front Range will be gathering at Murphy's Resort, in Estes Park for workshop sessions with Neyla Pekarek (formerly of The Lumineers), Daniel Rodriguez (Elephant Revival), and Clay Rose (Gasoline Lollipops/Widow's Bane). Three events associated with the Retreat will be open to the public: Friday, January 31, there will be a no-cover showcase and reception for student songwriters featuring singer-songwriter, Kate Farmer at Nicky's Steakhouse. Saturday, February 1, our instructors, Neyla Pekarek, Daniel Rodriguez, and Clay Rose will each be performing rare solo sets in The Masonic Lodge space. This is an intimate ticketed event with limited seating. Sunday, February 2, a showcase of our student songwriters will be presented at Nicky's Steakhouse. These events are made possible by Snowy Peaks Winery, Nicky's Steakhouse, Estes Arts District--who will provide a scholarship, rockymountaindayhikes.com, Nick Molle Productions, Ziggi's Coffee, Estes Park News, Fall River Village, and Hyk who has donated towards scholarships. Students will be provided catering by The Grubsteak. Visit www.snowygrass.com for details and ticketing for the Listening show. [Organizer's description]
