The popular Boulder Outdoor Cinema series got under way last month and continues through August 27. And a pair of immensely popular recent movies will be on view this week as BOC patrons loll before the screen on assorted couches, bean bags and yoga mats. On Friday, July 8, it's Napoleon Dynamite, Jared and Jerusha Hess's 2004 comedy about a depressed teenage nerd (Jon Heder) who simultaneously tries to cope with a bizarre family life and help his Latino friend win a class presidency. On Saturday, July 9, Harry Potter fans will get another look at the third film in the series, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which centers on the escape of the spooky villain Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) from prison. The entire Hogwarts bunch is on hand, of course, led by the dauntless hero of the title (Daniel Radcliffe).

The Boulder Outdoor Cinema is at 1750 13th Street, in the back lot of the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. Gates open at 7:30 p.m.; cartoon and shorts are screened at dusk, followed by the feature. Bring something -- anything -- to sit on. For information, call 720-317-7498.
