The Quiero Arepas food truck has been around since 2010, but in July 2015 — much to the delight of fans of Venezuelan street food who were weary of stalking the truck across Denver — owners Igor and Beckie Panasewicz settled down in Avanti Food & Beverage. The soft, corn-flour pockets filled to overflowing with fried plantains, shredded pork, black beans, cheese and avocado were now available day and night to anyone who wanted to eat them at a table (not on a street curb). And come they did: Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night nor unending parking fiascos have kept fans from Quiero Arepas. It's still one of Avanti's cornerstones, and with any luck will continue to turn out great bites for many years to come. Viva arepas!
