Opened in late 2005 by JJ Grueter (bassist for Drag the River and the Nobodys) and his family, the Triple Nickel Tavern might just be Colorado Springs's answer to Denver's 3 Kings. It's a rock club through and through (well, with some punk and country thrown in) and brings in a steady stream of local and national acts like Supersuckers and Heartless Bastards. While music is king here -- the bar sports a great jukebox, too -- it's also a place for Red Sox fans to watch games (the Grueters are Boston natives). Pittsburgh Steelers fans gravitate here on game days as well.
