Today's a pretty big day for Danielle Anderson. Not only is the YouTube darling featured on the front page of, well, YouTube (see the clip being touted after the jump), but today marks the release of her brand new record, Two Bedroom Apartment. Oh and she's celebrating by playing some of her songs at a little old place in the foothills. Red Rocks -- you might've heard of it? To that end, Anderson, better known by her nom de tune, Danielle Ate the Sandwich, is opening tonight's Film on the Rocks show for Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, themselves warming up for a screening of Raising Arizona.

Can't make it out to Red Rocks tonight? All good. Catch Danielle tomorrow night at Twist & Shout for a special in-store performance in advance of her official CD release party this Friday, July 9, at the Walnut Room, in which she'll be joined by Cody Crump and have a full band in tow; tickets for that show are $8 ($10 day of show) and on sale now. She'll also be on the air tomorrow on KRFC from noon to 1 p.m. for Live at Lunch.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
