Congratulations are due to the fine young men of the Epilogues. For the second year in a row, the band is one of the winners of the Ernie Ball battle of the bands, earning them a coveted slot on that stage for this Sunday's Warped Tour date at Invesco. The time slot has yet to be nailed down but the band says it will probably between noon and 2:30 if you want to catch them. And if you can't make it to Warped Tour (those tickets ain't cheap, and there is some kind of recession currently ongoing, after all) you can always catch the band and help them celebrate the accomplishment at the sure to be more reasonably priced show at the Larimer Lounge Saturday night, where they outfit will be supporting the Photo Atlas in a CD release show. Nice work, guys!

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
