All right, as if there wasn't already enough going on this weekend to entertain you, what with the Dancin' In the Streets Festival, the Warped Tour, the Mile High Blues Festival, the Mardi Gras Music Festival, Kings of Leon at the Rocks and the Houses EP release party tonight, here's another diversion: Gary Sinise -- you know, Lieutenant Dan from Forest Gump! -- is going to be in town tomorrow evening performing at Civic Center Sounds, an event sponsored by the Civic Center Conservancy geared towards celebrating, well, Civic Center Park. While Sinise is no Sonic Youth or X, Hizzoner Hick will be in the house to hear his band, fiftingly dubbed Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band (natch! -- evidently, That Dude from CSI Who's Not William Petersen didn't have quite the same ring to it) throw down with Opie Gone Bad. Show kicks off at 5 p.m. Oh, and it's free, so the price is precisely right if you get the itch to find out what's inside this particular box of chocolates.
