The summer of dance is about to officially get under way with Global Dub Festival, not only the first major dance event of the concert season, but the first festival of its kind at Red Rocks, one geared entirely toward the low-end frequencies. To ensure that you have the best possible experience tonight, we've put together a survival guide, including directions, parking info, a rundown of what you should bring, what you can and can't bring, as well as the full lineup and set times, to help you prepare for an epic night of earth-shaking bass.
From RedRocksOnline: Red Rocks Amphitheatre is located in Red Rocks Park near Morrison, Colorado, 15 miles west of Denver. Coming from Downtown, take I-70 west to exit 259, turn left at the bottom of the Morrison exit ramp, cruise on downhill 1.5 miles to the Red Rocks Park entrance. Coming from south Denver, take C-470 to the Morrison exit, turn west and follow the signs to the Park entrances. Here's a tip to avoid some traffic: You can also exit C-470 at Highway 285. Take it west to Highway 8 and then come north to the Amphitheatre!
As an experienced veteran, you probably already know that parking at Red Rocks is really simple. You want to arrive a little bit early and park as close to the entrance as you can, so you can get in and out quickly and without any problems. Parking is free. To avoid the congestion of traffic flowing in from I-70, you may want to consider using one of the alternate entrances off of Highway 74 rather than the main entrances off 93.
Global Dub Festival is debuting some of the world's biggest names in bass music right now. That's not to say they are the biggest and the best, but they certainly have paved the way for hundreds, if not thousands, of bass acts. With all the bass music, it may be a good idea to pack some ear plugs. It'll make the experience a little more enjoyable in that you will actually able to distinguish sounds other than just the bowel-shaking bass thuds. You also might want to pack a jacket. Although it feels like summer during the day, it still gets a little cool up at the Rocks this time of year. A rain poncho wouldn't be a bad idea, either. A chance of thundershowers is in tonight's forecast. Doesn't mean it's going to rain, but it certainly doesn't hurt to be prepared.
• Non-alcoholic beverages in factory sealed and labeled plastic containers • Coolers 12" x 17" and smaller (must fit under designated seat) • Cloth bags, soft packs, pillows, back rests, rain coats or ponchos • Food (fruit or vegetables must be sliced) • Binoculars • Seat cushions or soft-sided stadium seats • Umbrellas (as small as possible and without points) - ponchos are much preferred! • Strollers (folding umbrella style ONLY)
Note: All items you bring must be able to fit underneath your seat!
• Unsealed plastic containers (i.e., water bottles) Thermoses, bota bags or wine skins • Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs • Glass bottles or aluminum cans • Laser pointers (will be confiscated & patron is subject to ejection) • Ice chest sized coolers larger than 12" x 17" • Recording devices (audio, video or cameras as restricted by show) • Any weapon or item construed as a weapon such as guns, knives, sticks, fireworks or firearms • Bullhorns or noise makers • Framed backpacks • Lawn chairs • Grills • Confetti
