Erstwhile Tulip Wars members Dan Barnett and Sean Geisthardt discovered that their catalogue of shared influences (including Radiohead and Battles) translated easily into sounds for their new project, Goer. The pair's second EP in as many months finds them continuing to develop a cerebral blend of electronica and indie rock that fuses Geisthardt's love of plucky, polyrhythmic guitar lines, Barnett's live drums and a host of synths, sequencers and effects. The hypnotic mélange is frosted with a layer of heavily processed vocals in a style more than a little reminiscent of Thom Yorke circa Kid A. "Pull Me Out Like Ivory" and "Like Minds" are the standout cuts, but the six-track EP is solid from start to finish.
