Happy 303 Day, y'all! (Or is it Merry 303 Day? We can never get it straight). Today, in case you haven't noticed is March 3 -- or 303, if you're into that whole brevity thing -- which just happens to be the area code of our fine city and the surrounding areas. In honor of that serendipitous convergence, our friends over at KTCL have created a special holiday (which is sure to become a state holiday, if we can convince those in 720, 719 and 970 to co-sign the initiative) celebrating all things 303.

Tune in to Channel 93.3 today, and you'll hear tons of Colorado music, along with a cast of characters offering up their favorite memories of our fine state. Oh and if you're not already wearing your pride on your sleeve, be sure to head home at lunch and grab some sort clothing item to represent -- Broncos, AVs or Rockies jersies or your ratty old Fluid shirt. All hail the three-zero-threezy!

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
