Got plans this weekend? If not, you do now. There's a couple of shows totally worth checking out featuring local musicians paying homage to a pair of past icons, groundbreaking, paradigm shifting artists who left this world violently and prematurely. This Friday night at the hi-dive, the Dualistics -- and a slew of guests, including members of Hello Kavita, Achille Lauro, the Wheel, Ghost Buffalo, and John Common, Dan Craig, Jen Korte, Mike Marchant, Angie Stevens -- will be playing In Utero, Nirvana's last studio album, in its entirety to honor the memory of Kurt Cobain, who passed away fifteen years ago this Sunday. The other show takes place this Sunday, April 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jazz at Jacks and features Sheryl Renee and her band with AlTune playing the songs of the one and only Marvin Gaye, who passed away 25 years ago tomorrow, on the day before his 45th birthday.
